Brooke Cobbin serves as a reviewer with TPI-US and supports the assessment and review of educator preparation programs across the nation. She brings extensive expertise in literacy instruction, curriculum design, and educator preparation quality assurance. Brooke holds an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership. M.Ed. in Elementary Reading and is certified in K-12 school administration and K-6 Elementary Education.


Brooke spent five years as an elementary school teacher in a high needs urban district, where she implemented early reading interventions to support developing readers. She served as a literacy coach for two years and as an assistant principal for three years. She has worked in higher education as an alternative certification program director and clinical faculty member in elementary education. As the director of an Educator Preparation Institute, she was responsible for second career teachers meeting state certification requirements. In this role she revised alternative K-12 teacher certification curriculum to include more inclusive practices in areas of classroom management, instructional design, student engagement, differentiated instruction, and assessment. She also played a crucial role in university-school-district partnerships resulting in a collaborative model for educator readiness. As a clinical faculty lead, Brooke enhanced the overall organization of the internship experience by facilitating communication among the university, the school site, the teacher candidate, and the mentor teacher. She trained clinical faculty on the coaching cycle and how to assess teacher growth using video observations and review of professional portfolios.


Brooke’s areas of expertise include structured literacy instruction, school-university and district-university partnerships, alternative certification programs, mentor teacher training, teacher professional development, clinical practice integration, and instructional observation cycles. She has contributed to statewide professional development including the approved clinical educator training and is committed to supporting environments across the nation in which educators and students thrive.
