BROOKE COBBIN

Brooke Cobbin serves as a Clinical Supervisor at the College of Education at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, FL. She is responsible for the preparation and development of traditional pre-service educators across major school districts in Northeast Florida. She also coordinates clinical experiences and manages the program’s data collection system to ensure the college, school, and students are in instructional alignment. 


Brooke held various K-12 positions for eight years including classroom teacher, literacy instructional coach, and assistant principal in Duval County Public Schools and YMCA Charter Schools. As a school leader, Brooke spearheaded the professional development of teachers and implemented strategies to improve student achievement. In addition, Brooke served as the Director of the Educator Preparation Institute at the University of North Florida for three years. In this role, Brooke administered this alternative certification program which had the purpose of preparing adults who previously earned degrees outside of education to become teachers in the Northeast Florida region.


She earned a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University and holds a master’s degree in Elementary Education and Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Florida. Her doctoral research is centered on clinical experience. As a career member of the Air National Guard, Brooke serves in the Education and Training Office at the Office of Diversity and Inclusion at the Secretary of the Air Force, Pentagon.
