Christine (Chris) Lowak serves as reviewer with TPI-US. She brings expertise in mentoring and coaching, supporting continuous improvement, creating and sustaining a positive culture and in aligning theory and practice in the K-12 space. Christine received her bachelor’s degree, and her teaching certification, from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas with a major in political science and a minor in history. She received her master’s degree in educational administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.


Christine was a career public school educator for 30 years in North East ISD. During that time, she taught US Government, Economics and English. She participated in numerous district level committees on a variety of topics from student engagement to curriculum development and was often selected to pilot campus and district initiatives. While in the classroom, she taught various levels from inclusion to Advanced Placement and was a frequent Summa student most influential teacher honoree. After 12 years in the classroom, she transitioned to campus leadership. She was an assistant principal, academic dean and a principal. She developed and led numerous professional development sessions at both the campus and district level and presented at both state and national conferences. She facilitated new teacher mentoring networks, was the district trainer for master schedules, and was often selected to represent the middle school perspective for district initiatives involving long-range planning and visioning for the district. While an academic dean, she worked closely with Trinity University as the professional school coordinator for their MAT program in collaboration with the district.

 

After leaving the district, Christine spent 3 years as a leadership coach at Trinity University. This involved weekly coaching sessions with administrative interns, facilitating graduate seminars and the selection and induction of aspiring administrators into the master’s program. She has also worked as a consultant for an educational service center before transitioning to her current position with the Charles Butt Foundation.
