Dr. Andrea Kelly is a Professor of Mathematics Education. She began her career in education as a middle school mathematics teacher. Prior to accepting this position, she completed a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Pure Mathematics, with a minor in Secondary Education, from Hunter College, City University of New York. Five years after graduating from Hunter College she completed a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Denver.


Dr. Kelly has served as a content specialist, faculty advisor, supervisor for preservice teachers in their practicum and internship, and course reviewer. She has also served as Acting Dean, Acting Associate Dean, and Academic Department Chair for the following programs: Secondary Mathematics Education (6-12), Middle Grades Mathematics Education (5-9), Elementary Education (K-6) with Infused ESOL and Reading Endorsements, and Exceptional Student Education (K-12) with Infused ESOL and Reading Endorsements.
